About Charlie Neff
Charlie Neff is an Emmy-Nominated Senior News Producer widely known for appearing on ‘TMZ on TV’ and ‘TMZ Live’ on Fox.
She is a Southern California native, born in Pasadena and raised by her maternal grandparents in the San Gabriel Valley town of Glendora. Charlie’s upbringing was as you might expect, taking full advantage of her West Coast habitat by regularly venturing out to Newport Beach, camping in the Mojave desert, and hiking the San Gabriel mountains. She also loved the glitz and glamour of Hollywood and always had a passion for everything pop culture.
After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Communications with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism from the University of La Verne, Charlie moved to the heart of Los Angeles to pursue her dream of working in the entertainment industry.
Not knowing where to start, she took the initiative to create her own entertainment news website, Popinionz.com, which landed her on the red carpet at some of Hollywood’s hottest events. She interviewed everyone from reality star Kris Jenner to actress Elizabeth Banks, and got the opportunity to become a recurring guest host on the Logo Network show, ‘The Gossip Queens’.
Not long after launching Popinionz, Charlie landed a job on the news desk at TMZ, where she quickly climbed the ranks from Production Assistant to Senior News Producer in just six years. As one of the few investigative producers behind the organization’s groundbreaking content, Charlie has been instrumental in breaking some of the most significant entertainment news stories of our time – from the release of the explosive elevator video fight between Beyonce, Jay-Z and Solange, to Justin Bieber’s sudden marriage proposal to Hailey Baldwin and even Kylie Jenner’s unexpected pregnancy. Her work at TMZ earned her a Daytime Emmy nomination in 2016.
When she isn’t working, Charlie loves to travel the world and document her experiences to share with other wanderlusters. Her insatiable passion for adventure was inspired largely by her late uncle, Jeff Cuevas, who was an avid traveler before passing away due to complications of lung cancer in early 2019.
Charlie has compiled a massive bucket list that she’s determined to fulfill;
some highlights of what she’s already checked off her list include visiting England to experience the royal wedding festivities during Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s nuptials, swimming with pigs in the Bahamas, trekking with Elephants in Thailand and skydiving over the Palm Islands in Dubai. She also participated in the Nike Women’s Half Marathon in San Francisco, where she raised over $3,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Charlie currently resides in Playa del Rey, CA with her two Persian cats, Pretzel and Sassafras.
